Can you grind meat using the Vitamix?

meatgrinderguides

So can you grinding meat in vitamix? The short answer is yes but only with the right steps. You have to be certain that your meat is truly that simple to grind because if a very tough chop is made with a vitamix, it will literally ruin your ground beef or chicken and will literally vibrate so much that the blade will actually dent the side. This is a very frustrating problem to deal with and can even turn into a nightmare at times. So here are the right steps to follow to ensure your beef or chicken is as simple to grind as possible.

First, can you grind meat in a vitamix with anything other than the plastic container that comes with the machine? Shredding plastic will cause scratches on the blades of your vitamix which is not a good thing. You want to be able to use the metal container that the vitamix is built into. At the very least you can use the metal container that comes with your machine, but I would go with the wooden one just to be safe. Using a wood container will allow you to use the metal blades of the vitamix to shred your chicken and beef faster so you can get more out of each meal.

Second, can you grind meat in a vitamix with vegetable seeds? Although you may think that this is a delicious idea, the truth is that you can ruin your meat grinding experience by using vegetable seeds instead of throwing them onto the plate in the hopes that they will fly away in a cloud of dust. The dust from these seeds clings to the metal parts of the vitamix and slows down the grinding process. This can cause a mess as you try to clean up and sacrifice some of the flavor of your food.

Next, can you grind meat in a vitamix with a food processor? This might seem like a good idea because your Vitamix will be able to break down your meat into smaller pieces for easy meal preparation. However, if you have a smaller kitchen space than an appliance such as this will not be the best solution. The motor of a food processor is much larger than that of a vitamix and it will take up quite a bit of room.

Finally, can you grind meat in a vitamix with a food chopper? If you enjoy the ability to cut fruits and vegetables and enjoy a good grilled steak then a food chopper might be the answer. You can use these to shred chicken and fish as well as hard foods such as nuts. These are much larger appliances than the vitamix and can take up more room but they will give you the ability to shred your favorite meats.

While these are good choices to consider, remember that just because a device looks like a vitamix doesn't mean it can be used in the same way. You need to check out the actual functions before making a purchase. You also need to know if you will be able to clean these properly and easily. Remember, they aren't going to be made to deal with every kind of food so don't assume they can cut it like a vitamix can. While some models can do a decent job, it is going to be more difficult for you to clean.

If you aren't too worried about cleaning and would prefer a device that can slice your food into fine pieces then you should consider a mini meat chopper. This type of meat chopper is much smaller and easier to store away when not in use. They will give you the ability to take small pieces of meat and create a great texture without the large mess that you will get with a vitamix. They are a great option if you want to make sure you get the texture you want but aren't concerned with getting the clean up done right.

If you want the most consistent result from your grinding efforts then you should consider investing in a commercial grinder. These units can come in all different shapes and sizes and can provide you with the ability to grind meat as well as vegetables at a consistent rate. Because you will have such a high level of control over the consistency of the ground beef you make, you can be sure to impress anyone who sees the meal.
